2020-2021
HEF Funding Priorities
College & Career ReadinessThrough rigorous academics, internship opportunities, career technical education courses, SAT prep and college counseling, our HUSD schools aim to teach our students a growth-oriented mindset that encourages their curiosity, innovation, and ability to make real world connections. With these supports, our students will be ready for any college or career path of their choosing.

Climate & Culture InitiativesSchool provides a critical structure and community for our children, giving them a space to be seen and supported in their growth. The goal of HEF and HUSD is to create learning environments that foster equity, empathy & engagement.
Climate & Culture initiatives include professional development for staff and teachers in trauma informed practices, social-emotional learning, unconscious bias training, the incorporation of ethnic studies into our curricula and more. |

2020 has been a challenging year for all of us, without exception. Full of altered or uprooted plans at best, and tragic circumstances resulting from the global pandemic and local wildfires at worst, nothing has gone according to plan and we've all had to adapt accordingly to continue moving forward.
Given these unprecedented challenges, those of us at the Healdsburg Education Foundation have been working diligently to strategically reimagine the way in which we serve our Healdsburg Unified School District now and moving forward, in order to be the most effective and impactful partner we can be.
Over the course of HEF's history our fundraising has taken many different forms and focuses, from sponsoring teachers through an adopt-a-class model in our younger years, to funding a range of broader District priorities, programs and initiatives over the better part of the last decade which strove to help the greatest number of students possible.
This year, HEF is trying yet another approach, which we feel strongly will better position us moving forward to assist our Healdsburg schools in a greater capacity and with more flexibility as circumstances change and unforeseen needs arise. This will look like bolstering our operational capacity to strengthen our organization as a whole, and more importantly, aligning our fundraising commitments to the longer term goals that HUSD has set forth in their most recent LCAP report. We will be fundraising for 3 general areas of focus: College & Career Readiness, Climate & Culture Initiatives, and COVID Capital Needs.
"The LCAP (Local Control Accountability Plan) is a three-year plan that describes the goals, actions, services, and expenditures to support positive student outcomes that address state and local priorities. The LCAP provides an opportunity for local educational agencies (LEAs) to share their stories of how, what, and why programs and services are selected to meet their local needs."
